Description
Early Bahnschutzpolizie NCO visor cap in great condition! In 1939 the Bahnpolizie merged with the Reichsbahnschutz creating the Bahnschutzpolizie (BSP).
The exterior grey wool is in very good condition with some minor staining. To the right of the visors peak is a pin sized moth nip and there is some additional mothing located under the leather chinstrap, just below the green felt cap band. The rear of the felt cap band has some mothing and minor tracking. A small section of stitching on the left side of the brim has slightly loosened but is still very sturdy and well supported. The aluminum insignia is in excellent condition with all retaining pins intact. The liner is in terrific condition and is a size 56. The celluloid diamond is intact, and maker marked Clemens Wagner with the officer’s name “Oberhofer M.” In addition, there is a sewn in fabric tag with the officer’s full name “Oberhofer Martin” located behind the sweat band. Overall a very rare and terrific piece!
