Description
Proudly offering this early WW2 M1 helmet with Hawley liner in excellent condition. This gorgeous example is named to MAJ. Jacobs H. Doyle. The McCord produced shell is an early, front seam, fixed loop type with khaki (OD3) chin strap and is heat stamped 56D. It has over 98% of the exterior paint intact with no stress cracks or rust. The Hawley liner is near mint! It has been stamped in multiple areas “Major Jacobs H. Doyle”. The line’s leather chinstrap was removed at some point. The riveted loops are still perfectly intact. An unmarked replacement leather strap has been tied to the original riveted loops for display purposes- see pics. Overall, one of the most beautiful early M1 Hawley helmets I’ve personally seen!
